Welcome to Langley Gorse Day Nursery...the premier day nursery in Sutton Coldfield.

Kelly Day Nursery Manager

"I always wanted to work in a nursery which had a 'home from home' feel, where children can feel safe, loved and nurtured - as this is the best environment for them to develop. This is exactly what I feel my team and I have achieved at Langley Gorse."

Kelly Day
Nursery Manager

My name is Kelly Day and I am the manager here at Langley Gorse Day Nursery..

I have worked in early childhood since 2003 and hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification.

The time since then has gone so quickly, during which time I’ve developed my career whilst raising my two children. I have also spent 5 years between 2010 and 2015 living and working in Melbourne Australia, and feel I’ve learnt so much from this experience.

I see myself as a reflective practitioner and believe early childhood is a very special place where growth and development can continuously be achieved. My passion for creating safe, secure and nurturing environments for children where they can feel confident to be themselves is at the heart of what I see as high quality provision. I also feel strong parental relationships built on mutual respect are paramount to the running of a successful nursery. These things combined are what I feel we excel at here at Langley Gorse and if you come to see us I’m confident you’ll agree.

We occupy a beautiful, recently refurbished Victorian nursery in Sutton Coldfield, with over 3 acres of wonderful outdoor play space in fields and gardens.
It’s hard to find a day nursery in Sutton Coldfield - or the surrounding area - with wonderful facilities for both indoor and outdoor play. Situated in acres of beautiful grounds, grassed areas and woodlands, our Sutton Coldfield nursery has both, and we’ve incorporated lots of information about our facilities on our Our Nursery page, and lots of photos of our children at play throughout our website. Thank you to our parents for granting their permission for us to share these photos.

Our philosophy and practice
We’ve taken care to explain our approach to childcare in some detail on our Caring For Your Child page. I think that this is particularly important, as not every Sutton Coldfield nursery operates in the same way. We explain our ‘Key Person Approach’ and how this enables us to know both you and your child really well – and better meet your child’s needs. We also explain how our nursery and outdoor environments contribute to your child’s development with us.

Here at Langley Gorse we have a great partnership with parents – working closely to ensure that we are meeting their individual needs. I strongly believe in creating warm, caring and friendly environments, where children and their families feel cared for, valued and loved - and where they can genuinely feel at home. As children’s primary educators, the relationships we build with parents are as important as the relationships we build with our children. These relationships create a ‘home from home’ atmosphere and help children to feel safe and secure, leaving them free to immerse themselves in play.

Useful Information
We’ve tried to include as much information as possible here on our website, and you’ll find much of it on our Parent Information page. I believe we’re the only Sutton Coldfield nursery to open from 7.30am – 6.30pm, Monday – Friday for 51 weeks of the year (we close during Christmas week) and offer a variety of sessions to suit most family’s individual needs at competitive and inclusive prices. We also offer FREE childcare places for eligible 2 year olds, and ALL 3 and 4 year old children, and include nutritious ‘home cooked’ lunches and teas – the details of which are all explained on this page.

The best day nursery in Sutton Coldfield
It’s natural to be proud of your nursery when you work with a team who work hard to provide wonderful care to children every day - and I’m no exception. Finally, while we regard Langley Gorse as a Sutton Coldfield nursery, we also have many parents who use us from as far afield as Lichfield, Tamworth, Walsall, Kingstanding and Erdington – as well as from local areas such as Four Oaks, Streetly, Wylde Green and Wishaw. You’ll find a map showing our location on our Contact Us page - as well as our contact details. If we look as though we could provide a childcare solution for you, then we’d love to see you at the nursery and show you around - so please give us a call on 0121 351 1632 or pop in to see us, and meet our team.
